Your vision. My how.
You focus on where the business is going. I'll build the operation that gets it there.
From the outside, everything looks like it's working perfectly.
But you're still the one making operational decisions that shouldn't need you.
Still the one people come to when something falls through the cracks.
Still holding the whole operational picture in your head, because nobody else fully owns it.
Whether you're a year into building this or ten, the pattern is the same. You're meant to be the CEO. Somewhere along the way, you became the COO too.
That works, for a while. But every stage of growth - a new hire, a funding round, a big client, a product launch - adds operational weight. And the more of it you carry, the less room there is for the thing only you can do: seeing where this business is going and getting it there.
Your team is capable. Your vision is clear. What's missing is someone who owns the operational side with the same seriousness you bring to everything else.
Not someone to manage tasks. Someone to lead your operations
so you can stay focused on leading the business.
What is a Fractional COO?
A Fractional COO is an experienced operational leader who works with your business on a part-time basis, giving you senior-level strategic and operational expertise without the cost of a full-time hire.
A full-time Operations Director costs upwards of £80,000 a year before employer costs and recruitment fees. A Fractional COO gives you the same level of thinking and leadership at a fraction of that investment, with the flexibility to scale the engagement as your business grows.
But not all Fractional COOs work the same way.
Some advise. Some oversee. Some hand you a report and leave you to implement it.
I do things differently.
How I Work
I work embedded in your business as a genuine operational partner. Not a consultant who checks in and disappears.
You hold the vision: where this business is going, what it stands for, what only you can decide. I hold the how: the roadmap, the systems, the follow-through that turns that vision into something that actually runs.
That means I'm thinking about your operations continuously, owning the roadmap, and bringing solutions to you rather than waiting to be asked.
What that looks like in practice is built around your business. It might include regular strategy calls, attendance at team meetings, roadmap ownership, and direct message access between sessions.
What stays consistent across every engagement is this: I combine strategic thinking with hands-on implementation. I don't just tell you what needs building. I build it.
For founders without a large internal operations team including early-stage teams where everyone still wears three hats that end-to-end approach makes the difference. You get the thinking and the doing from the same person, so nothing falls into the gap between strategy and execution.
This might be the right fit if...
- You're a founder, whether newly funded, fast-scaling, or years in, that's ready to bring in someone experienced to lead your operations, not just manage your to-do list.
- You're the operational bottleneck. Too much knowledge lives with you. Your team can't move without your input. You can't step back without something going wrong.
- You're at a significant inflection point. A funding round, a major hire, a new offer, a platform change. These moments create operational complexity that needs someone experienced at the helm.
- You've tried fixing it in pieces and it hasn't worked. Projects get completed but nothing joins up. The same problems keep coming back.
- You're
ready to lead at a higher level. You want to step back from the day-to-day operational detail and focus on what only you can do.
What We Build Together
Every engagement starts with a proper understanding of where you and your operations are right now. From there, the work is scoped around what your business actually needs.
Here's what this kind of engagement typically produces over time:
- An operational infrastructure that runs without you at the centre of it.
- Systems and processes that are documented, navigable, and built to outlast any individual on your team.
- Visibility across your operations so decisions get made on real information.
- A team that knows what they own and how to do it.
- The space for you to lead at the level your vision needs you at.
This is not a quick fix. It's a relationship and the businesses that get the most from it are the ones that are ready to commit to building something that lasts.
